Celebrate the Winter Season with these Sugar Land Events

Can you feel that frosty chill in the air? Now that we’ve closed the curtains on October, the winter holiday season is quickly approaching, and with it comes tons of community events!

No matter how you choose to celebrate in the coming weeks, the Sugar Land area offers a wide variety of events to ring in the winter season. Browse a few of the highlights happening in town, and mark your calendars for these great events!

Holidays in the Plaza

Over the next few weeks, the Sugar Land Town Square will host the Holidays in the Plaza series. Performances this year include the jazz stylings of Chris Mitchell, songs from the female vocal group Heart & Soul, and sing-alongs with the Houston Show Choir.

Bring a steaming cup of hot cocoa, family, and friends to the Plaza, and kick off the holiday season with this concert series. The first performance will be on November 16th and will run until December 13th.

Riverstone Holiday Market

The Riverstone community in Sugar Land will be hosting their annual Holiday Market again this year. The price of admission for the event is one canned good, which will be donated to the Second Mile Mission Center. Vendors will be selling a variety of goods, and ticket-holders will receive complementary hors d’oeuvres, drink, and a shopping bag.

Grab a can of food and head to the market on Friday, November 16th from 5pm-9pm!

Shop Small Saturday

Small Business Saturday is a national event sponsored by American Express to support local business during the holiday shopping season. The Town Square in Sugar Land will be participating in the event, so head out to the local shops and restaurants in the area to support the local economy.

Shop Small Saturday is happening all day on Saturday, November 24th and is perfect for getting a start on your holiday shopping!

Christmas Tree Lighting

Kick off the Christmas season with the annual Christmas Tree Lighting on the steps of City Hall! The event includes crafts, holiday activities, face painting, live music, pictures with Santa, and tons of food and drinks. The 40-foot Christmas tree will be lit by Mr. and Mrs. Claus, and the event is free and open to the public.

Head to the steps of City Hall on Friday, November 30th, and ring in the Christmas season!
